Picnic 10 is over – and what a nice conference it was! Only one of us Bubblers could make it to Amsterdam, and only for two half-days. With so little crew, I focused on covering the event live through Twitter.
First of all, a big thanks and props to the Picnic team, who put together a smooth, inspiring and extremely well-organized event!
Obviously, Picnic deserves more than that. So let me share a few impressions (all photos by Picnic).
It’s time to share a few impressions.
Like Tom Coates said: “I’m in a Yurt! I’m in a Yurt! Put your hands up now cos I’m in a ****ing Yurt!”
See the rest after the jump!
“What are you bringing?” was the official motto. But the whole Love theme was also going strong.
The inside of the old gas tank at night.
Taking a break to relax out in the park is never a problem at Picnic. And I don’t need to tell you how good that is!
I’m not quite sure why these ladies were going around with sauce.
Everybody has a big heart at Picnic. Here you see Cory Doctorow presenting for more freedom for authors, and about new business models for creatives. (Hint: DRM didn’t get away too well.)
The wood & outdoors theme dominated the event, and worked quite well. Extra props for the separate program flyers for every day. Very useful indeed.
You could even picnic while on-stage.
Even the lecture room was very hearty, so to speak. The design all over was really well done. Marcel Kampmann is the person to thank for all of this. Luckily, Thomas Praus interviewed him briefly – my apologies for the shaky camera, that was actually me:
There are plenty more nice pics on Flickr, by the way.
Again, thanks a lot, Picnic!
