Berlinblase in the news (5)

Update: Ok, there is obviously a serious need for clarifcation, because humor and irony is something that is not really transmitted very well. At least, if you don’t know the person. So here it is: It’s a joke. This whole post is nothing more then a joke and we don’t have any beef with the DLD … on the contrary, I’m personally in Munich right now and Berlinblase wouldn’t say no, if we would be invited next year. :-)

Thing is, we were actually pretty envious of the people who got invited to DLD at the moment we wrote that post. It wasn’t because we were angry or had any trouble with the DLD people (we don’t have any real contact to them … ok, we follow @heiko on twitter).

Btw. there is good reason to want to be at the DLD. It’s not exactly my world or the world Berlinblase is usually in and that’s the great thing about the DLD. It’s a conference, where you actually feel like something is different. There aren’t that many conferences that can provide that feeling.

To make an already long story a not that much longer: DLD is fun, Berlinblase would love to be part of it and we definitely not having any beef with the DLD team.

Breaking News: Berlinblase is canceling their trip to the DLD!

The Berlinblase-Crew announced today in a very sudden press conference that they will not attend the 2009 DLD (Digital, Life Design) Conference in Munich. This message shocked the international and especially the German Blogger-Elite. „As you know, I’m currently selling my Blog on eBay (the eBay-ID was removed by the author), but as soon as I heard of this press conference, I dropped everything and took the next ICE to the Berlinblase stronghold.“, told us Robert Basic. „It was very shocking.“

The Spokesperson of Berlinblase advised everybody about the possibility to leak the information through the iPhones the Berlinblase-Crew was giving every journalist. This was a small consolation price after journalists were brought to their stronghold with black bags over their head to disguise the actual whereabouts of the Berlinblase-Crew. Rumors suggest that the location of their stronghold is somewhere near the French boarder, although this has not been confirmed yet.

The actual press conference wasn’t very informative. The spokesperson advised everybody about the decision of the crew, that they won’t be going, but wished everybody luck and a nice conference. „The Berlinblase-Crew is convinced that it will be a great event with both exceptional speakers and great networking possibilities. We just hope that the places we made available will be given to the small bloggers, who someday hope to achieve the status we have. The DLD would be the perfect place to start their careers and make a name for themselves in the blogosphere..“

After the press conference, we were asked to accompany the spokesperson to a private room, where he leaked the actual story. According to the information that was given to us, it seems the DLD PR team was a bit needy and called the crew every day about the RSVP. After a couple of weeks the crew was so annoyed by the behaviour of the organizing team that they decided to cancel their participation at the DLD.“

This might not be a world shattering decision for the bloggers of this world, but it is a hard blow for the DLD.
